Artist Bio

Carol Motsinger is a North Carolina pastel artist who grew up surrounded by animals. She always knew she would be an artist, and tried many mediums before discovering her love for pastels. She now paints realistic animals and pet portraits, and her work is in many private collections. 

Carol's love of animals began at a young age. She grew up in the country, where she was surrounded by dogs, cats, horses, and chickens. She loved to draw and paint the animals she saw, and she quickly developed a talent for capturing their likeness.

Carol continued to study art in college courses, online instruction, self study, and through experimentation. Carol is a member of the Pastel Society of North Carolina, and she has won numerous awards for her work..

After starting with pencil drawing, then going to oil painting, then acrylics, she was introduced to pastels. She was immediately drawn to the medium, and she began to experiment with it in her own work. She quickly realized that pastels were the perfect medium for her, as they allowed her to create realistic paintings with a soft, painterly touch.

Carol is passionate about her work, and she loves to capture the beauty of animals in her paintings. She believes that animals have a special place in our hearts, and she hopes that her paintings will bring joy to people who view her work.
